Introductions
“Out of sight, out of mind”, is what the expression says, but this is certainly not true for the UCU experience. Even though I moved to Leiden where I obtained my Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and started a PhD studentship, I still value my years on campus. Against my own expectations, I have even praised the course “Academic English” more than once for having taught us how to give a proper presentation. Having said this, it may come as no surprise that I am proud to represent you as a UCAA Board member. Looking forward to seeing you in 2012!

After dreading the moment for three years, I too had to leave my beloved campus behind and enter the real world. However, interesting as this real world may be, UCU remains part of me. Still living in Utrecht, where I recently started the master’s program Technical Artificial Intelligence, I won’t be giving up the bubble just yet. As the new UCAA Events Coordinator, I will be working on intensifying contacts with the new graduates, as well as ensuring that there continue to be plenty of opportunities for all of you to feel a bit enbubbled again. I hope to see you soon!
