UCUniverse is the platform for students and alumni, staff and professional partners of UCU. It was launched in March 2008, with the goal of creating a way for them to cherish and expand their network. This is done by using the different networking capabilities of UCUniverse, and by facilitating the search for fitting jobs and internships for students and alumni. The UCU Career Development Officer and the UCAA regularly post vacancies, internships and interesting opportunities in the professional database of UCUniverse.
Besides being a helpful professional tool, UCUniverse also serves as a contact database, which is especially valuable to the UCAA to keep track of the whereabouts of their alumni. It is therefore important for our alumni to keep their (postal) address and non-students email address up-to-date!
Advantages of registering on UCUniverse for our alumni are numerous. First of all, members can upload their professional profile (integrated with LinkedIn) and view the profiles of their fellow alumni. They are also able to view and post career opportunities to UCUniverse. Secondly, UCU alumni will be updated on UCAA and UCU-related events and opportunities via the bimonthly email Newsletter. Regional representatives will be able to invite alumni residing in a certain area to regional events, and the UCAA can contact their alumni when needed, for example for personal invitations or requests. And last but not least, alumni with a registered postal address will receive the magazine Post on their doormat!
